Terms of Reference

In general terms, the Senate Standing Committee on the Illicit Trade in Weapons, Humans and Drugs is responsible to the Society for identifying and keeping it up to date on criminal activities related to its mandate, and promoting effective intelligence practices. In addition the Committee advises the Senate on crime trend issues to guide the strategic direction of the Society.

Composition

The committee will consist of 11 members including the Chair. Members can be drawn from backgrounds in intelligence, criminal justice, terrorism and policing. As well, a minimum of one each has to come from Mesoamerica, South America, and the Caribbean.

Work Programme 2011 – 2012 – The Illicit Trade in Drugs in Latin America and the Caribbean.
