Are governments alone capable of combating crime? Has crime progressed and evolved unmatched by the powers of individual government and intergovernmental legislation, agreements and coalitions? How volatile is the situation? What is the risk to the security and safety of people? Who has the answers and solutions? Are they ideologically-driven? Who really stands to gain?
There are currently 195 national governments, and an untold number of state and municipal governments in the world today. Transcending national boundaries, there are literally thousands of peoples representing groups of languages, cultures and societies.
And then there is the track record of the last 65 years; since the end of World War 2, genocide, sectarian and ethnic violence, famine, torture, environmental degradation, and crime continues to dominate the news. Our logo is symbolic of the conjoining of two equal forces - SECURITAS - the Latin word for security, and NOUS - intelligence is perhaps the closest English word. Like the better relationships, each force reinforces the other. We believe that this marriage is necessary to meet the needs of a world that has become more globalized, complex and chaotic.
