The Research Development Steering Group is a committee of the Senate’s Secretariat. It is responsible for making recommendations to the Senate with respect to program development and approval of the annual research programme. Specifically it shall be responsible for:
- formulating and recommending to the Senate objectives, strategies, plans and priorities for program and curriculum development
- establishing processes for the review and approval of new programs
- reviewing new program proposals and advising Senate whether such proposals are consistent with the Forum’s constitution and making recommendations as appropriate
- assessing the budgetary impact of new program proposals on existing programs, where necessary, and making recommendations as appropriate
The Research Development Steering Group has the following membership:
- Provost who is the Chair
- One (1) Vice-Provost as Co-Chair
- Society’s President
- Remainder of the Forum’s Managing Directors
- One (1) full-time member from each of the Forum’s business divisions for a two year term
- Ten (10) members from the Senate for a two year term
